How to choose

Three things to check first.

  • Add up both costs.

The subscription is one. Card processing is the other. Compare the two added together.

  • Will you ever build or remodel?

If you will, look for build scheduling, permits and draws in the same app as your routes.

  • Ask how your data gets in.

A good switch brings your customers, routes and service history over, and lets you run both side by side.

What is the best pool service software in 2026?

It depends on what your company does. Check three things. First, the work you do: weekly routes only, or builds and remodels too. Second, how the price grows: a flat rate, or a charge for each pool, tech or user. Third, the whole cost: the subscription plus card processing. PoolStack runs weekly service and pool construction in one app for $79 a month flat.

How much does pool service software cost?

Public prices on October 4, 2026: PoolStack is $79 a month for every feature. Skimmer is $1 or $2 a month per serviced location, from $49. Pool Founder is $49 to $249 a month by number of technicians. PoolTrac is $1 per visited location a month, with a $30 minimum. Pool Office Manager is $125 a month for the first user and $25 for each one after. Jobber is $29 to $399 a month billed yearly, and Housecall Pro is $59 to $299 a month billed yearly. Card processing is a separate cost, so compare software plus processing.

Which pool service software handles pool construction?

PoolStack has Gantt scheduling, daily logs, permits, inspections and build draws in the same app as service routes. No Skimmer plan lists construction tools, and Pool Brain, PoolTrac and Pool Founder list none on their websites (checked October 4, 2026). Jobber and Housecall Pro list contractor tools such as progress billing, and are built for home service trades in general.

What is the difference between pool software and general field service software?

Pool software (PoolStack, Skimmer, Pool Brain, Pool Office Manager, Pool Founder, PoolTrac) is made for pool companies. Jobber and Housecall Pro serve many home service trades and each has a pool service page. If pools are your whole business, start with pool software. If pools are one of several trades, a general tool may fit better.

Should I switch pool service software mid-season?

You can. Run both side by side instead of a hard cutover: bring your customers, routes and service history over first, then switch when you are ready. PoolStack's trial is 30 days and includes bringing your data over.
